Forever is'nt boring

Judy and Hugh

5 Things That Kept Our Marriage Fun After 50

1. Travel... But Make It an Adventure

Not just any vacation.
Bucket-list vacations.

Sometimes Hugh gets his dream trip. Sometimes I get mine. That's called marriage.

The destination honestly isn't the important part. It's being together. We've learned that sharing new experiences gives us something to laugh about for years afterward.

Can you take a two-week vacation? Wonderful.
Can you only steal away for a long weekend? That's wonderful too.
The point isn't how much you spend. It's making memories instead of excuses.

Besides... I'd rather be exploring a new city with Hugh than sitting around listening to my girlfriends complain about their husbands.
Ladies, I adore you... but I'd rather come home with a passport stamp than a list of everything Hugh did wrong this week.

And I like to think he'd rather be with me than listening to his buddies explain why they "accidentally" bought another fishing rod.

At least when we're together, we both get new stories out of it.

And maybe the rod he'll be using won't be the one for fishing.

Better order another martini. Now for #2.

Books by Judy and Hugh

These five lessons barely scratch the surface. After nearly a lifetime together, we've collected hundreds of stories... funny, embarrassing, romantic, and occasionally unbelievable. That's why we wrote the books.
